Hi, friends!
It’s been a while since we had an advice post, so ask away anything you’ve been percolating on.
I’ll start.
It’s been 50s and 60s all week, with weekend highs in the low 70s. Monday and Tuesday the highs are in the low 90s.
While I planted slow to bolt lettuce varieties, I feel like this is going to do them in. Think if I water the fuck out of them and use some shade cloth I might be able to save them? I haven’t used shade cloth before so I don’t know how much it will actually help.
I don’t know but I’m sure someone around these parts does! good luck!
In my limited experience, a couple of days of hot weather won’t matter much in the timeline. Lettuce seeds are cheap anyway so just be prepared to resow.
*stomps feet in a petulant manner*
but I want to eat the fresh lettuce now not wait for reseeded lettuce to grow
BDG is right. A couple of days shouldn’t send a slow bolt variety into bolt mode. But extra water and shade can’t hurt.
