Hope everyone had a good weekend! Mine was super productive. I got a pedicure and my friend took me out to lunch after which was a nice little treat. Then I came home and rearranged my houseplants. Which sounds like a bullshit job but believe me when I told you it took HOURS. I built a new vertical stand for them, repotted some, decided which ones to take to the office, etc… It was an Ordeal.

There’s been some sweet schadenfreude in seeing right-wing grifters realize in real-time that Elon isn’t one of them, but is just a straight-up fraud who’s in way over his head.
Elmo’s showing the world the asshole I met/avoided at Queen’s. Intensely unlikeable even by really unlikeable assholes/creeps like James Woods.
The story would have been a lot better by describing Woods as more than just “conservative actor.” That’s sort of like calling RFK Jr. as a person who has spent a portion of his time investigating the science behind vaccines.
They also buried the lede. Removing the block feature could place Twitter in violation of terms with Apple and Google, and result in removing it from their app stores. That’s literally all the way down at the bottom. James Woods is peanuts compared to that.

I had a social life yesterday! I went to a BBQ hosted by friends I hadn’t seen in two years. It felt weird and good, too.
I even saw the former housemate and acknowledged his existence without making a fist consciously or subconsciously (progress.)
That Guardian article about Meadows sure could have shown the least bit of curiousity about ABC’s sources for their story.
They’re not in DOJ. There have been tons of accusations from Trump’s team that DOJ leaks, but zero evidence, and reporters know that Jack White isn’t Ken Starr. So who would be leaking this? Almost certainly Meadows.
It’s been widely reported that Meadows himself is a notorious off the record source for dubious information. He’s the only one who would have this kind of information, unless he has a psychic twin brother locked in the basement of ABC News. Smith’s investigation into the classified documents is known to be ongoing, and Meadow’s exposure is definitely not limited to just the Iran invasion document.
So why is Meadows leaking? Is he simply protecting himself, or is he doing his best to still protect Trump too? Is this really a revelation, or is it a smokescreen?
I can get why ABC is going to funnel info from a source with a minimum of this kind of analysis in order to try to keep the spigot open. But there’s no reason why other outlets should be taking any of this at face value, and it would be helpful to draw on more about what’s known about Meadows and the risks he’s facing from all of the different cases swirling around Trump.
Not to be blase about a threatening weather event, but have The Scorpions been alerted to the idea of a hurriquake? I feel like they could do something with this.

I’ve got a friend who pretends to be a libertarian, because one of his adopted kids is gay, but he’s really a right wing Republican who swallows all manner of bullshit. One day I was in the car with him while he spewed all this crap about how my employer was conducting sex changes on minors. I didn’t say anything in the moment because I couldn’t easily access the information I needed. I just waited until I got home, pulled up the program information from my employer’s website about gender affirming care, highlighted the part that stresses that absolutely no surgical procedures are conducted on anyone under the age of 18, and emailed it to him. He never apologized for being a stupid tool, but at least he’s never said anything about it again.
