  1. You know what’s been grinding my gears about Trump now?
For his entire life, Donald Trump has been an unabashed liar, and now is the time when he decides to honest about how racist he is.
I don’t want Trump to be President again, but the thing that’s been bothering me the most is that his current strategy makes no sense in light of all the data that’s out there. All Trump would have to do to turn his polls around is fucking lie about being a uniter and give some vague platitudes about America being better together. He’s done it before! But instead he’s quadrupling down on a Stephen Miller strategy of stoking racial animus at a time in history when even white Republicans are starting to admit racism is an issue and support protests surrounding the deaths of black men and support taking down Confederate statues.

All this lying ass liar has to do is fucking lie, and NOW he’s deciding to be as openly and crassly racist as possible. If ever there was proof that Trump is incapable of having anything that roughly approximates “a plan”, this is it. It’s utterly baffling, it is.

    • I think Trump, and his “team,” are seriously over-estimating the number of racists that he can count on. I did a long post on this the other day about “casual racists” and how Trump is alienating them because he’s putting their racism on display along with his own.

But you have to look at it from their perspective. When they look around, all they see are racists, mostly because those are the “best people” that Trump recruited (or more accurately, his racist minions recruited). So they assume from that skewed sample that racism is more popular than it actually is. It’s confirmation bias. Remember, this is the guy that demanded “apologies” for polls he didn’t like. And they’re too stupid to look beyond their inner circle and say, “fuck, we’re actually losing white Republican males, we must be doing something wrong.” Because racism never let them down before.

And the true movers-and-shakers of the conservative movement, massive corporations and rich old white people, are scared shitless. Because Trump looks to be ushering in a new age of Democratic leadership that’s going to shut them down for a decade or more, until the American public gets stupider again. So they’re turning on him viciously.

  2. When I saw the headline the other day about Florida, Texas and Arizona officials saying “whoopsie, we opened too quickly,” my first thought was, “No shit, Dick Tracy.  Tell me something else that everyone with more than two brain cells to rub together already knows.”
