Let’s Talk Wittle Bitty Oogie Woogies!

The puppy that my wife chaperoned to the filming of this year’s Puppy Bowl has shown up in Animal Planet’s promos, which is a very good sign that he’ll be on screen in the broadcast shown Sunday afternoon.

I met him briefly, and he was, as you would guess, a very good boy.

In case you’re wondering, the producers reach out to rescue organizations all across the country and bring in a big bunch of puppies every fall for filming over a number of days. They let them loose in groups in the miniature stadium they’ve constructed, and then try to figure out any interesting dynamics between puppies that they can focus on to create a storyline. Or at least, the best they can when you have a bunch of complete nutballs bombing around with a bunch of toys and other crazy puppies.

Every year at my state fair there’s an exhibit of eggs in an incubator, and you can see the chicks pecking their way into the world. But then you can walk away!
