  2. Going with the family to a preseason New York Football Giants game, down in New Jersey at Met Life Stadium and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a cheapish hotel/motel/koa within 45 minutes north of the stadium?

    Just sending it out there on a whym.

  3. United Airlines is a black hole. After a particularly shitty experience with them last year I decided they would never see another dime from me.

    Also, looks like the critics were right about USWNT. It’s too bad the team couldn’t own their shit and instead tried to tell the critics how they had no right to say how poorly the team was playing.

    • The last time I flew United (because it’s a partner with Air Canada) I deeply regretted it especially the mere 20 minutes I had to catch my flight at one of their shittier hubs at Dallas/Fort Worth which arrived at one terminal and the flight to Toronto was at another. Even with the fucking tram, I just made it with about 2 minutes to spare.

      After that no more connecting flights to hubs. I’ll pay the extra for a direct flight.

      Also fuck the Hub system.

      • I’m surprised that United and Air Canada are partners because my experience with Air Canada earlier this year was a revelation. Every flight left on time and arrived early. No problems with the bags or checking in. People were actually, you know, helpful. It was amazing.

        • I always hear idiots (seems to be ignorant assholes/RWers with an axe to grind) bitching about Air Canada. It’s not perfect, but most every experience I’ve had flying any American airline except South West (from what I saw last year that’s changed) has been quite shitty.

          It’s like when people bitch about Canadian Telcom providers (they are assholes) but then demand American telcos enter the market.  Sure I’m not against more competition, but they (right wing ignoranuses) never met Sprint or Verizon or Comcast (they make Robbers, Rogers look enlightened based on my own experience working with various telcos.)

          Air Canada might have some grumpy air crew, but I’ve rarely had an issue with them that hasn’t been resolved. Their management sucks, but their crews and service staff are still good.

        • Probably goes back to most people either having decent hygiene practices or being in small enough groups that it doesn’t spread. That’s a big lodge so one dipshit not washing their hands and touching a bunch of food prep areas tables etc is going to spread it easily.

          Like I did several field seasons in Belize with nothing worse than bug bites and one memorial night of diarrhea after eating streetmeat after a bar crawl. Until the year the dumbass undergrads went swimming in the same crick the cows used to cool down in the heat. Downstream of the usual cow place, because they’re dumb. Did I mention they were dumb? I also caught more than one of them trying to microwave a metal bowl, because dumbasses.

          Anyways, that was the same summer a bunch of us got dysentery because this dumbass kids also didn’t wash their hands well before helping with food prep.

And it’s obvious that he’s subtweeting his own editors, who repeatedly published their nonsense, and plenty like it,  and are now pretending they had no idea.
