Bird Droppings: Love is in the Air!

This morning we got a text from our next door neighbors, “do you see the eagle couple in the tree?” So, I look out the window and the sun is lighting up these two white heads in the tree about 500 yards from our deck. I ran to grab my camera and ran on the deck before they took off.

These two have been hanging out around our neighborhood for awhile and I am hoping it is a new couple and they are looking for a place to build a nest. I hear them calling each other all the time but usually only see one or see both in flight. They didn’t stick around too long.

I don’t know if the left one is the male or female but suspect the left is the female with the turn of the head to say lets go, follow me…

It is so cool to see them take off and rarely flap their wings.

They were gone that quick but I’m sure they will be back later.

Enjoy your Sunday & get out and enjoy nature if you can.

  1. Awesome, love to see it!

Also, you have way better texts with your neighbors.

Mine today was “hey can I use your can opener?” because the neighbor broke his and it’s chili weather here.

    • I used to strongly dislike these neighbors but they have mellowed big time.  My wife gave their daughter a baby gift when she saw she was pregnant and ever since they have been super nice to us.  They are the ones that have a little dog that almost got picked up by a great horned owl while walking to the mailbox in front of our house.  Now they have a little “potty shed” for the dog at night behind the house.  They also have AstroTurf instead of lawn which my wife considers an abomination!

  2. I had a Sharp Shinned Hawk land on a sign in a shopping plaza parking lot about 10 feet away from me about a week ago. Pretty crazy because it is an urban area, with a Chipotle, grocery store, car repair places and mattress store right there. He flew away before I could get my phone out for a picture.
