Born Under A Bad Sign [NOT 10/6/23]

Hey Deadsplinterites, what’s your sign?

According to my Chinese sign, I’m a dog. In this case, a metal dog.

The metal person is controlling, ambitious, forceful, and set in their ways as metal is very strong. They are self-reliant and prefer to handle their problems alone. The metal person is also wise, business-oriented, and good at organization and stability. However, the metal person can also appreciate luxury and enjoy the good things in life. The metal person has strong impulses and generative powers that they can use to change and transform those who come into contact with them, just like metal can conduct electricity. The well-balanced metal person is patient, as well as a good person with a strong will.

Funny enough, I’m not ambitious or forceful or set in my ways. Not so sure about the wise part. Couldn’t transform Giant Baby Ex Roomie and Cokehead Narcissist so… not really.

As for the Western version, I’m a Virgo.

Those born under this horoscope sign are forever the butt of jokes for being so picky and critical (and they can be), but their ‘attention to detail’ is for a reason: to help others. Virgos, more than any other zodiac sign, were born to serve, and it gives them great joy. They are also tailor-made for the job, since common Virgo traits are being industrious, methodical, and efficient. The sense of duty borne by these folks is considerable, and it ensures that they will always work for the greater good.

Picky? Sometimes. Critical? Fuck yeah. Attention To Detail? Not so much. Born to Serve? Wanted to join the military at some point. Hate tennis and not butler material. Industrious? Only at work. Methodical, sure. Efficient? Hahahahaha. Working for the greater good? Hmmmmm…maybe?

Do I believe in this? Not particularly. Perhaps what month/year you were born maybe makes your personality, but I think who you are is based on life experience and what painful lessons you learned like fire hot and rat poison tasty.

I find it interesting to see what personality characteristics of yours show up in your sign(s.)

  1. Huh, the info is long, I should have edited it more. I like horoscope stuff!

Capricorn is a cardinal, feminine earth sign, ruled by Saturn and associated with the Tenth House of career, reputation, and goals. Capricorn focuses on building an empire, with its feminine cardinal abilities facilitated through earthy stoicism. Capricorn plays the long game to ensure incredible success.

Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn is tasked with the karmic duties of time, lessons, and authority. No other sign can shoulder the weight of the world as Capricorn can. So, it’s no surprise that Capricorn is expressed as the Sea-Goat or Goat. Much like a goat clinging to the mountainside, Capricorn will tenaciously persevere.

    And

The Earth Dog: Quiet, kind-hearted, but secretive; understands how to inspire others and how to give them instructions. And yet, because of high moral principles and inexhaustible idealism, she is too laid out, and therefore she may need very loyal and loyal supporters.

This Dog is a good fighter who knows how to survive, is practical and not as sentimental as other Dogs. A realistic Earth Dog appreciates its individualism, respects itself and, if anything, speaks, then with all heart, without hiding. If it is vested with power, it does not abuse it and distributes tasks to people exactly according to their capabilities. Defeat it will not break, and guaranteed success — will not spoil.

  2. This got me wondering if I was born in the Age of Aquarius like the song from Hair, and it turns out maybe?

Wikipedia cites different sources saying the transition from the Age of Pisces to “harmony and understanding blah blah” was slated anywhere from 1447 to 3637.  So we’re either over 500 years in, or 1600 years away, or somewhere in between.

  3. I’m a Pisces & Fire Horse.  Most of the descriptions are very accurate, including this gem: “But the Fire Horse are stubborn and unwilling to listen to the opinions of others. Therefore, they need to learn self-control and self-restraint, listen to the views of others and patiently obey the teachings of the elderly.”

    yeah, good luck with that!

    • I’m a Pisces and one of the traits is the indecisiveness and the wishy-washiness.  It’s why the two fish are going in opposite directions. This drives Better Half (a Gemini) nuts, because although Gemini are twins it’s not like they pull in two different directions. It’s more like they’re twice as determined, or one is living in the present and one in the past simultaneously. Just yesterday I heard BH advising the new President of his company on what she should focus on and who she should ignore, and the minute the call was over, started whining about the absence of a little leftovers that I had fed to the dog.

This is what makes (or made) traveling with me so much fun. So we land at the airport abroad. That’s nice. It is slightly grimy and purely functional (although nowhere near as horrific as one of the NYC airports, because you’re in Europe) and the signage is bilingual and half the country seems to be on the move because everyone retires so early and has so much vacation time and there’s one discount airline per 100 citizens, it seems.

Nonetheless, you’re not trying to leave the country, you’ve just arrived. You look around and notice that there’s a sign that seems to say something about a public bus or subway link that will take you into your destination’s center. Surely that must be much cheaper than a taxi, and taxi thievery in general predates the invention of the steam engine. So you give it a shot.

I miss traveling in Europe so much. I miss the muscle pain in my jaw from making unaccustomed foreign sounds. I miss the uncertainty and my Piscean wishy-washiness: Should we go down this street or this street? Once the street is chosen, “Look, there are three cafés and two restaurants.” Once seated eventually, at one of them, “Oh look, they have braised oxtail, that’s what that translates to, but I don’t know what to order because they also…”

Actually I am, or was, a nightmarish travel companion. If you want to knock off a bucket list of greatest hits sights I’m the last person you’d want to rely on. But in my prime if you would have liked to spend most of the day doing things like,”I think that must be a farmers’ market. I bet there’s also a flea market, so we can pick up a few things…”

    • Oh also, I got sidetracked, a very Piscean thing, I meant to mention that I’m a Water Rabbit:

The sign of Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

The luckiest Chinese zodiac signs in 2023 are Oxes, Tigers, and Snakes. Then, with not quite so much luck, come Dogs, Horses, Goats, and Pigs. Rabbits’ and Rats’ fortunes will be influenced by ‘opposition to Tai Sui’. Roosters and Monkeys will have to work especially hard to make headway.

Apparently I was supposed to be opposing Tai Sui. I don’t know what that is. Maybe the Faithful Hound does, because we will be going into battle together!

  4. Gemini and my name is LuigiAnd I like a woman that loves everything and everybodyAnd you know what, ladies, if you feel that this is youThen this is what I want you to do

Float on, float on (float on)Float, float, float on (yeah, yeah)

  5. im a saggy tardy ass

and im good at the tardy part

fairly adept at the ass part

    and ageing towards saggy

according to china i am a water pig

People with 1983 Chinese zodiac Pig are a gentle, modest and blunt person, and they cannot tolerate others to beat around the bush. They are very persistent and can make unremitting efforts towards their goals. Although they lack some talents, they are willing to insist in order to succeed and can succeed via hard working. They have dual personalities and are easily influenced by others. They are responsible but very stubborn. Even if they make wrong decisions to do something, they will not stop until get big troubles.

huh……well thats scarily accurate…..cept maybe the modest part

  6. I’m a Libra, and the whole balance thing certainly thing checks out — though more in the harmonious sense than the quantifiable one, I’d say. As for the Chinese version, I’m a Snake, apparently, and I don’t quite know what to say about that: I didn’t know that I was until just now, and I doubt that you did when you took me in, either.
