Welcome to this week’s installment of C U Next Tuesday, where I pull some rats out of the sewer and write about them. This week, by popular demand, I’ll be covering some of the talking heads doing their damnedest to work everyone up about how scared we should be of Bernie and socialism!

I’m also going to throw this in here because I recently shared it on my personal social media and I think that it actually reached some centrists/moderates! They won’t be voting Bernie in their primaries, I’m sure, but maybe they won’t freak out about him if he makes the general.

Maybe that can reach some of those “pragmatic” voters (who don’t realize how unpragmatic Joe Biden is…). I have a lot of reservations about Bernie using the s-word to describe himself because of how uneducated people are about it, but he’s doing it, so we’d better get out in front of that.

You probably know by now that Old Yeller Chris Matthews has been (rightfully) driven into retirement after, among other things, comparing Bernie Sanders, a Jewish American from a family of Holocaust victims, to FUCKING HITLER as he was called the winner of the Nevada caucus.

While I’m specifically targeting him because he has participated in the media freakout where everyone suddenly woke up and remembered Bernie Sanders is a person, I thought I’d highlight some of this other cunty behavior, the more recent of which probably helped hurry up that resignation.

Sexism!

Racism!

  • Most recently, he confused SC Senator Tim Scott, and SC wannabe Senator Jaime Harrison. Hard to tell black men from South Carolina in totally different positions apart, huh, Chris?
  • Accused Sen. Kamala Harris of having “hatred for all white people.”
  • Decided he was an honory black person by osmosis by living NEAR DC.
  • (And I’d categorize his recent comparison of Bernie Sanders’ movement to Nazi Germany as racism as well, although a different form)

Capitalism!

(I’m not intending to equate capitalism with racism or sexism here!) Just throwing this nice little scare-monger about Bernie before we move on to other cunts…Employing the McCarthy-era tactic of erasing the differences between Stalinism and other types of socialism, as evident when he said that had Teh Socialists won the Cold War, people would be executed in Central Park. You know, like they do in Denmark….

Ok I know it’s not a cunt pun but that’s what I call him.

  • He’s been a key player in the erasure of Bernie Sanders – saying he didn’t know how Bernie, who’d almost won one and definitely won the other of only two primaries that had happened so far, could be called a front-runner.
  • Compared Bernie’s online mob (yes it can be a mob) to FUCKING BROWNSHIRTS (hey, can we just quit comparing other things to Nazis when we have literal Nazi sympathizers and Holocaust deniers running our government?)
  • He’s got a real bug up his ass about Bernie “alienating” billionaires.
  • Engages in lots of fun both sides-ism, by even falsely claiming Democrats committed a similar power grab to Republicans in Wisconsin!
  • Infantilized Elizabeth Warren as if she is a hormone-driven teenage girl by saying she hadn’t gotten over “feelings” about Bloomberg and that they’ve distracted her. And for sure, he’s the type of sexist to have no idea why that’s sexist.
  • Made sure to keep his show’s impeachment coverage balanced by only inviting Republicans to discuss it.
  • And of course, 10 million years ago last year, he, being the respectable journalist he is, let Trump go on his show and spout unchallenged lies.

Ghost of Cuntsmas Future: James Carville

Every child is a gift from god.

Skull with mouth James Carville has been a haunting face of the Democrats since I can remember. He’s got plenty of generalized Third Way-ism, neoliberalism, shill-ism to answer for. He’s one of the architects of where we are at today. But I’ll keep this brief, because I’m really only focused on recent times.

  • He compared Bernie supporters to climate deniers for striving to expand the electorate in order to win elections, calling them “fools.”
  • Implied that Bernie Sanders is a communist, because obfuscating historical fact is the hallmark of a trustworthy strategist.
  • Disingenously tells Vox that Bernie wants “terrorists to vote from jail cells,” disregarding the bigger picture that is prisoner voting rights that would LIKELY FUCKING HELP DEMOCRATS.
  • Is all part of the bigger picture that he, like many of the establishment types, is using his platform and power to create hype and sow hysteria when the voters are not really on the same page, and are likely not that worried about it.

MSNBC didn’t hesitate to suspend Jason Johnson for his remark about “the island of misfit black girls”(which while offensive I admit to having giggled at, it was funny!) but has waited for years to call for Spitball host Matthews to resign. Hmmm, what’s different about them?

  8. Honestly, I’m not worried about Bernie’s embrace of Socialism. The Republicans were going to call the nominee a socialist anyway. Hell, they called Barack Obama a fucking socialist for 9 years and he wasn’t even close. So, I think the R’s have basically played themselves by taking all the power out of the word.

    • I’m more worried about the people who would vote Dem, who know that all Dems aren’t socialists, but who are susceptible to that scare-mongering and who will hear Bernie call HIMSELF that and think it’s too much. People who think Dems are socialists already are too far gone to start with.

  9. I’m almost speechless how we are seeing the White House show a level of incompetence in the face of an emergency not seen since Hurricane Katrina, and the pundit class is hung up on this BS instead.

    Trump choosing Pence to run the show on Coronavirus is even worse than Bush picking Michael Brown to head FEMA and letting Rumsfeld refuse to let the military get involved in the hurricane preparations and relief.

    But these idiots have their heads so messed up it they won’t touch it. I see the argument that the news media is all about ratings, but that’s wrong. The ratings would go through the roof if they simply reported honestly on Trump’s response to Coronavirus. These guys have locked in to narratives that hurt everyone, including themselves.

        Pareene in particular lays out how Trump and the media are hung up on this being a messaging issue. Viruses don’t care about messages.
