The Windy City
Looks like somebody (cough cough Myo) forgot they said they’d fill in for Brighter. So I’m throwing this up fast.
The Democratic convention starts this week in Chicago. What’s your take on the Windy City?
Deepdish. Hotdogs served by cursing people. Da bears. Da blues. Nazi sub in a science museum. Second City improv.

I’ll start by saying I love Chicago. It’s a crazily walkable city – you can start out on the North side and work your way through the loop and go for a great five mile hike, stop for coffee and beer and snacks along the way, and see all kinds of neat things along the way.

I enjoy hot dogs (polish sausage) dredged through the garden sans ketchup.
My sisters once lived in Ukranian Village and they had some awesome Kielbasa there.
I love Chicago style pizza when done right & was a Bears fan in the Walter Payton days but I have only been to the Chicago airport.  We just changed planes & got stuck at the airport for a few hours with the highest piles of snow I had ever seen at the time.  I have a few friends from there & would love to go with them but it’s definitely one of the few American cities still on my will try to visit cities.
It’s got a great corner bar culture where you can go to a neighborhood and spend a few hours walking from place to place and trying different beers.
St Louis has major middle child syndrome with Chicago.
As in people will say we got this museum/zoo/shopping/theater/sports/whatever just like Chicago…
And meanwhile Chicago is (accurately) like hahaha there’s no competition why are you even pretending?
St. Louis is awesome! A person who can’t find things to do there isn’t really a person.
I was born and raised in Chicago’s inner city. Right downtown in Little Italy, when it was still Little Italy. That city made me who I am today and I love it dearly.
In fact, I’m going up there next month. I hope the rioters and police leave a little bit intact for me.
Something tells me that Chicago is going to tell anyone who tries to mess with it exactly where they can go.
We went there for a concert at Schubas Tavern and then explored that area, which we loved. Lots of good places to eat and drink. Also enjoyed an evening at Second City, as well as a river tour.
