Everyone Loves The Parade
Once again our city had its annual Christmas parade. For reasons I don’t understand, the parade is kicked off by a steam calliope which takes off way ahead of the official launch and it always tears off along the parade route, playing songs like Frosty the Snowman, and leaving everything else in its wake. This year I just managed to see it briefly before it headed off to parts unknown.

So it goes. At any rate, I told myself this year I’d take fewer pictures, but I just couldn’t help myself. Everyone was having too much fun.
Many people waiting for the parade wore festive outfits. These people went Disney.

And there was also a family of Grinches.

Our mayor was out front in a black Santa hat, greeting the crowd and carrying a bag of candy which he handed out to the kids. The guy is happy to meet the people

And of course there were lots of Santas and Mrs. Santas, including this motorcycle duo.

The marchers are made up of all sorts. The local SPCA showed up with some mellow dogs.

And because the SPCA didn’t want to remind any dogs and cats of a stressful experience from their past, they brought out their transport van but filled it with stuffed animals.

And of course there were lots of good boys and girls in the crowd watching them go by.

There were reps from the local fire department getting a kick from dressing up and waving to the crowd….

…and then there were local groups, like this bunch of kids and parents from the public elementary/middle school which my kids attended.

There were random appearances like this group in the back of truck.

Do I know why? No! Does it matter? Definitely not! And there will be more to come….
Oh, that border-Aussie mix looks a lot like our late Lucy. I just want to hug that pup.
What a fun event.
no christmas parades here 🙁
hell..far as im aware there probably wont even be a christmas market
they kinda stopped being an everywhere thing in favour of being big properly organized things in some places
since some asshats drove into them in germany
asshats ruin all the things
What happened? This describes a bunch of them – did they drive the smaller ones out of business?

the big ones listed are still there…nowadays with big concrete blocks van proofing the streets
the smaller ones are dying as security requirements are not so affordable to smaller markets
the village ones dont give a fuck tho…coz what security?
course….anyone what drives a van into a village fair……probably wont be around to greet the police if they arrive 45 minutes to an hour later
bumpkin land has its own rules….and that 45 minute response time is a long ass wait if the villagers get a hold of you
oh..as to what happened tho

Our little mountain town’s Christmas Parade is on December 22. I will be there. Probably wearing my Santa costume with the assless chaps.
What if it snows? Those will look silly if you have thermal underwear.
