Uggggh, I fucking HATE guns, I HATE how we failed teenagers during the worst of the pandemic, and I motherfucking haaaaaate the NRA and ALL the goddamned fraidy-cat whitefolks, who made it so that the Brady Bill/Automatic Weapons ban was dropped, so that now *WE* have to deal with goddamned semiautomatic & automatic gunfire, on a semi-regular basis!!!!!

I saw one of the shooters doing the shooting last night (not well enough to ever ID him, and he was half a block away, too), but he LOOKED like a kid–he was *maybe* in his early 20’s, MAYBE…
His gun was a handgun, and looked like a small caliber one.. but DAMN do we have too many guns, WAY too easy for kids to get their hands on (or make!)…
It feels like the “Bad old days”, tbh, back about 100 years ago, when you had to worry about the *other*type of gangsters (Dillinger, the Barkers–Ma & her “Boys”, Capone, et al.), having gangland shootouts, over on University in St. Paul, & the surrounding areas🙃

I *formally* stopped & introduced myself to a couple of the guys I see most weekends, as I walk home from work–they’re a couple of the great guys who do Violence Interruption work here, and we talked for a WHILE last night, on the things we’re mutually seeing–them as dudes who work with the Big Kids, and me as someone working with the tiny ones💞
There are just SO many gaps in resources right now, and sooooooo many cracks for the kids to fall through, rather than getting thd support & help they NEED in their lives, before it *does* get to be “too late” and they end up dead from stupid shit…
And THAT is the gap I seethe NEEDS fixing–as well as that whole “gun parts are WAYtoo easy to get!” thing!
As long as the gun lobbies have a stranglehold on our country I don’t see how we can change it. But we have to continue to try
