  1. I am the basic-est of bitches, as I’m a big pumpkin spice fan.

I will say, and this is true of every season now: It doesn’t need to start two months before the actual season. I don’t, strictly speaking, need Halloween candy at the grocery store in early August; I don’t need Christmas to land in October and only spring clothes to be available at the store in January.

That last one is very real; my son badly stained one of his winter coats in January. I was running errands and since I was right by the mall figured why not pop over to Old Navy to find a cheap coat to last for a few months. Within 3 minutes of being there, I realized that coats would not be available BUT there were several hundred bathing suits just in case. I know that’s always been the way of retail, but it seems so self-defeating, especially in a kids section, because I can — and did! — order something online instead.

    • The only pumpkin spice I don’t care for is coffee. But I don’t drink any flavored coffee. But I’ll nom up all the other pumpkin spice stuff out there. I completely agree about the way retail handles holidays.

  2. Did my usual Dunkin order today and got a pumpkin spice donut. They were already out this morning, so they must be popular.
I told him to just give me a couple few pumpkin munchkins and that’s how I had 10 munchkins for breakfast. He just threw multiple handfuls in a bag for me.

    • I know the current temps are only lulling me into a false sense of autumnal security. As soon as I get comfortable the scorching heat will be back. Any Christmas stuff before mid November is bullshit!

  3. I know this is a minority opinion around here, but $1000 isn’t nearly enough to get me to eat pumpkin spice stuff.  Pumpkin yes.  I’ll eat pumpkin all day long.  Pumpkin bread, pumpkin soup.  But I’ve yet to find the foodstuff or beverage that pumpkin spice improves for me.

Now get off my goddamn lawn.
