Coffee Break [23/9/24]

By now your refrigerators are all artfully appointed. I hope you left room for some comestibles. Let’s talk about cheese. Specifically stinky cheese. I’m fond of a variety of blues, Camembert, and Taleggio. But though they are washed rind cheeses I don’t consider them very smelly.

Love ’em or hate ’em, DeadSplinters?

  1. not the biggest fan of the blue cheeses…i think i still have to learn to like them

now brie and camenbert…oh totally worth the smelly fridge

i also like serving people pesto cheese just to see their faces when green cheese happens

it being delicious is a perk too (and its remarkably pleasing aesthetically when served with bright orange sambal cheese)

    • I’m not wild about pesto but that’s a pretty cheese. I haven’t found a bleu I don’t like. But sadly they give me terrible heartburn. I still eat them though, lol.

  2. I am not a stinky cheese guy, love creamy or smokey cheeses.  We had an amazing sheep brie in Iceland at a wine bar that was heavenly.  It went perfect with the Chemin des Papes.

  3. I’m good with all cheeses. I don’t have a lot of experiences with some of the more stinky ones, but I’ve not found one that I really disliked. I would say that I’m partial to Dutch cheeses, but that’s probably because we visited a cheesemaker outside Amsterdam once and just had a great time learning — and sampling.

  4. Love me a good blue cheese option.

Also I tend to like sheep milk cheeses and they tend to have a funky taste undertone absent in cow milk cheese. Pecorino, manchego, pretty much any of the Basque region cheeses, love ’em all.
