It can be a struggle to get through the second half of the day.
Scientists in Japan have awakened 101.5 million year old microbes from the South Pacific Gyre, an area in the Pacific Ocean west of South America and the point on Earth most distant from any coastline. Maybe they’ve never read a Lovecraft story,
but surely they’ve heard of Godzilla!
The article reads like a variation of the beginning of a half dozen classic horror/sci fi films – The Blob, The Thing, Creature From the Black Lagoon, the aforementioned Godzilla, and Mothra. Long dormant stuff deep in the ocean should stay that way. Don’t we have enough going on with global climate change, locust swarm outbreaks, and killer viruses without stirring up monsters, or worse, The Great Old Ones. This is not a good idea, when chaos ensues and we’re all driven mad, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
And look how that turned out!
Cthulhu folk rock:
At this point I could use the distraction of a genetically altered monster terrorizing the planet and destroying everything in its path.
If I had to pick a death cult to belong to I’d go with Cthulhu over the GOP.
HARD same!!!😉
I mean, Mecha Streisand is still out there.
Will we ever be safe from all these monsters?
