Who knew that a purveyor of processed meat would be a leader in educating the public about media literacy?
Deepsteaks is the latest attempt by Steak-umm to encourage critical thinking, a campaign they began during the early days of the COVID crisis. I have no intention of buying their products, but I applaud their efforts. It’s refreshing to see a corporation acting responsibly.
For me cheesesteak meat needs to be chopped up on the griddle with a spatula, not in whole slices like it’s shown on that package. That helps the cheese melt all the way through and attack your arteries more quickly.
I haven’t had a cheesesteak in years. But I don’t want green peppers on one. Onions and cheese whiz as God intended.

I used to eat those all the time when I was a kid. I’m kind of horrified by that now.
I remember my mom making us sandwiches with them occasionally when I was a kid. We thought they were sort fancy, lol. Because they were expensive. But yeah, I’m horrified by it too.
I never had them. My parents were very anti-processed food, like getting blue box Kraft Mac and cheese was a special occasion thing.
It wasn’t any reason except cost. The processed stuff cost more by volume than the ingredients in the stuff.
Really bullshit that I still managed to be a fat kid despite not having processed food and soda in the house. Soda didn’t start appearing until high school.

I too haven’t had a cheesesteak in years but remember visiting my sister when she went to Villanova and getting the most amazing ones when I was a kid. The deepfake thing is very scary & should scare the whole political spectrum, it is going to get ugly, but I have the feeling the re-thugs will be okay with it being more likely to embrace it. I love Penzy’s spice! Good quality and great attitude. I agree the right doesn’t play by any rules and will fight as dirty as possible. I’m not convinced anything is going to stop trump from winning again in 2024.

Oh wow, I knew they had made some statements in the past but I don’t think I knew they had a whole section on their website dedicated to it. They are in Minnesota, so maybe their word is getting out.
OT I have a million dollar idea. A smoke detector with a programmable clock. You set a time bracket of let’s say a minimum of ten hours during which the fucker is allowed to beep when its batteries are low. Thus avoiding the 2am, baby waking, maddening beeping that doesn’t stop until you find a sturdy chair and try not to break your neck while reaching for the bloody damn thing and
smash it to piecesunplug it.I’m pretty sure the inventors/makers of those things did the opposite in the design to MAKE it only go off at 2am. They make more money if you DO just rip it off the ceiling and destroy it instead of just changing the batteries.
