It can be a struggle to get through the second half of the day.
Breakfast is several hours behind you, lunch not for a couple more. And you’ve got to get through that Zoom meeting without your stomach growling again. It would be easy to grab a candy bar, or toast a second bagel, but then you’d feel logy, need even more coffee, and you’re already a little shaky. You need a healthy mid morning snack that satisfies without slowing you down.
My go-to is chilled grapes and peanuts or pistachios. If I want something a little more comforting – pretzels dipped in peanut butter. When I’m craving something spicy it’s Seasnax wasabi flavored roasted seaweed, or sometimes wasabi peas. Talk about your snack preferences.
I basically subsist off cheese and crackers, so I guess that’s my go-to.
On my second latte of the day, but I made this one decaf so I’m not completely bouncing off the walls. The Monday struggle is real.
My daughter just texted to ask if jalapeno artichoke dip counted as a vegetable, lol. I suggested cheese and crackers instead. At least you get some protein.
Quarantine has really given me a caffeine habit. It’s going to be hard to go back to 1 cup a day like I used to do …
My Dunkin app reloaded $50 every other week. I’m saving lots of money these past three months.
I come from a long line of hardcore coffee drinkers. Growing up there was always a pot on in our house. And my father drank his last cup while watching the 11 o’clock news before going to bed! And even I feel like I’ve been overdoing the caffeine. I find myself reaching for a cup every time I’m bored.
I was never much of a coffee drinker–I think mostly because I seem to be impervious to caffeine. So, ever since my wake up time went from 6am to 7:30, I’ve skipped the coffee completely and just gone with juice.
As far as snacks, I’ve been eating more fruit–particularly Fuji apples–but I’m not above baking a batch of cookies, or just mixing a little PB and honey together and eating it with a spoon.
I like cooked Apple’s but not raw. There’s something about them that makes my mouth feel dry when I bite into it. It’s a strange sensation.
I don’t think k I could live without coffee. I drink AA meeting amounts, lol.
That’s a lot of coffee, indeed.
