Coming Soon! [NOT 12/5/22]

Hi, friends!

Anything new or exciting coming soon for you? A visit somewhere, a new beer releasing, a book you’ve been waiting for? A new avocado recipe?

I found out a cousin I haven’t seen in close to a decade will be in town next week and we’re gonna grab coffee! They moved out of the country when I was in college and I had no contact info for them. They found me on linkedin of all places, and here we are. 🙂 I’m so excited, it’s going to be hard to wait all week to finally see them!!!

  1. That’s really nice. I have little extended family. Although my father was one of 17 children, he was the youngest and was born in 1918. Any family still living on his side are rather tenuously related. On my mother’s side, her brother and is wife are still alive at age 96, in California, across the country. I will get to see a dear friend since college in June. She was just hospitalized from an emergency health scare, so I hope it is still on.

  2. I wanted something blue and yellow to wear, so I bopped around online and found a “Ukrainian Nationals” jersey from, which got delivered today.

It turns out it’s from the Phialadelphia Ukrainian Nationals, who have been playing in Philly since 1950.

It’s pretty sharp, and nothing subtle about the blue and yellow for sure.

  3. That should be fun. I had dinner in March with a cousin I hadn’t seen in years it was nice catching up.

I can’t wait for the return of Kids In The Hall, the new season starts tomorrow night on Prime. I’ll have to wait until I get home but I’m gonna binge the whole thing at once!

  4. Coming soon is the end of my last workday before I go to Spain this weekend. After the kind of day it’s been, there’s no way I can fucking wait.

Think I’ll get a pizza and some gazpacho from Guido’s to get myself in the mood.

  5. June has some awesome potential for me. Gonna visit some family that we dearly love and miss, and traveling to Denver to see The Hold Steady with one of my best friends from college and my brother. We’ve done several of these (X, The Hives, Cracker/Camper Van Beethoven, Bob Mould) and it has always been a semi-sober festival of awesome. The older I get, the more these guys mean to me.

  6. A beer releasing you say?  One of my favorite extinct beers has been brought back & my buddy just left some at my doorstep!

I had to cut my Hawaii trip in half due to Covid but am finally going on Saturday.  Will be enjoying a few beers with my buddies and my sister/all my nieces & nephews at the beach.  Hopefully I remember how to play beach volleyball.

  7. In a few weeks, we have a new (to us) vehicle coming and I will be driving it to Chicago to see my people and have a couple weeks without having to tend to sheep or donkeys.  I’m teaching a seminar up there and visiting my daughter.  At least that’s the plan.
