Can you hear an image? Because I can hear this one. It’s Friday fam. We made it. Yay you!

Vegas, Baby:

“Elizabeth Warren was roundly declared the victor of an often tempestuous Democratic debate, reviving her campaign after slipping in polls”

You’d think with all that money he’s spending he could afford a proofreader:

Nice shade from Wapo on this one:

“A federal judge on Thursday sentenced Roger Stone, President Trump’s longtime friend, to serve three years and four months in prison for impeding a congressional investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

To be fair, traders are often confused. #sorrynotsorry

“Traders could not pinpoint a catalyst for the sudden decline. However, some highlighted technical factors breaking down along with an increased risk-off sentiment stemming from fears of the coronavirus slowing the global economy.”

The plankton has logged on and let me tell you, IDGAF:

“Am I plankton? Why older women feel they’re at the bottom of the food chain”

“They had us in the first half, not gonna lie dot gif”

And now, your moment of zen:

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone.

    • But in the wake of the briefing and Oval Office confrontation, Trump announced the appointment of a hardline loyalist, the US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, in an acting capacity, which does not require Senate confirmation.

Unlike Maguire, a retired vice-admiral who ran the National Counterterrorism Center, Grenell has no intelligence experience (he was a spokesman for the US mission at the UN before being named ambassador) and is an outspoken partisan, particularly on social media.

“So the Grenell appointment is exactly what it looks like – a bid to politicize intelligence and hide information from Congress in an election year where Russia is again helping Trump,” said Matthew Miller, a former justice department spokesman, in a tweet.

As Grenell was confirmed in his ambassadorial job, the president has the authority to install him as acting DNI under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, but under the same act, he can only serve until 11 March, unless the president formally nominates a candidate for the permanent position. If a nomination is being reviewed by the Senate, the acting director could stay in the post for a few more months during the confirmation process.

so turtleman will keep reviewing and “nazi cookie monster” cunt grenell will be keeping it cunty…

  1. It’s definitely been a long short week. Between the Stone trial, the increasing evidence that Russian can get away with fucking over our election system, the debate, criminal pals of Trump and Fox News getting letting out of jail it was rough enough. On top of that, I had to send one of my cats in for surgery on Monday and she’s been isolated in a cone ever since. Poor girl is desperately lonely so I spend whatever time I can outside of work with her rather than, y’know, sleeping.

    Loooong week.

  2. So Bloomberg is making his plan for a brokered convention, like every other Dem candidate does, and should. This article is making the rounds in my feed.

    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/02/20/bloomberg-brokered-convention-strategy-116407?fbclid=IwAR01rh-FQloSxQ2ERMTHARXM-3ViOsXaeDVXOYArrqZzIONuV-JgWO0Q-Ns

The backlash on every posting is painfully predictable. It’s all coming from stans of one candidate. It’s again a conspiracy of the DNC to “steal” the election or “screw” their candidate over. They’ll “sit it out”, they’ll “vote for Trump”.

I like Bernie. I voted for him in the primary in 2016. I will vote for Bernie if he’s the nominee. I have chosen Warren in the primary for pragmatic reasons.

With all seriousness, this cyclic bs with the online mob leaves me with big “fuck you” energy. It leaves the base with that energy. The people doing this are not helping him should a brokered convention happen. They’re not helping him win over undecided primary voters, establishment Dems, and multiple other demographics that they Need to prevent that brokered convention from taking place. Because if it happens, he’s not winning it. I will put money on that.

Honestly I sympathize with refusing to vote Bloomberg. He is the one candidate that would make me seriously consider refusing to vote for POTUS. I would still vote blue all the way down the ticket, but this is not a vote against Trump. This is Trump with a “civil” veneer.

I don’t actually believe he would be “better than Trump”. I’ve heard arguments for judicial appointments, the environment, taxes(?), immigration, the impact to POC. I understand the rationale that “anyone” is better than Trump. I just don’t believe the arguments that He is are strong enough.

He’s a Republican in all but name, so he’s going to select conservative judges. I don’t give him credit on the environmental front. He’s not going to fix the tax code. He’s just as racist as Trump, so miss me with being better for minorities. He was against Obama on immigration. He was against Obama on reforming Wall Street. Hell, remember what he did to the Occupy camp? He’s not going to repair the damage Trump has done to the safety net or ACA. He’s certainly not going to secede congressional powers back to their rightful owners. He’s just going to go back to keeping the quite parts silent. If my choice is oligarchy with a side of institutionalized racism or fascism, that’s not much of a choice. That’s pick your dictatorship.

If he’s nominated, this will truly present the voters with the “they’re all the same” scenario they’ve been told is going on for the past 40+ years. We will be presented with two Republican elitist assholes that will do virtually the same things with different messaging.

That is why it’s so imperative that All the candidates drag him repeatedly. To make him completely nonviable should that brokered convention come to pass. Everybody’s stans better get the hell on board with that, and make Him the enemy, not the DNC. The DNC wants to win the damned election. If everyone makes it obvious he’s unacceptable to the voters, he has no chance. They’re not trying to elect Trump.

Warren continues to give Bloomberg no quarter.

    • I absolutely do not want Bloomberg as POTUS. The one advantage of him over trump is that I don’t think he can command the sort of loyalty and support trump gets. I don’t believe he’d get away with the same sort of blatant criminal activity. So I’d still vote for him if he’s the Dem nom. But I hope like hell it doesn’t come to that.

  3. Not to hijack the thread but DOT and all…(hope this copy and past works, and RIP to that genius)

Tomorrow will be the 40th anniversary…

The game was actually played at 5pm ET and delayed on ABC to 8. Some school buds and I gathered at a friends house and watched on CBC, which required his dad to keep rotating the roof TV antena (for those that remember what they were) every few minutes. We were basically listening to the game since there was so much snow on the TV.

The entire 1980 Lake Placid Olympics made a huge impact on me. From the Mahre brothers, the Heidens, Linda Fratianne (my crush) and of course the Tai & Randy pair that could go due to injury. It would also turn me on to Jazz via Chuck Mangioni and ABC using his tune for the theme song.

    ETA one more vid…

  4. Gramps is at it again

    • …there’s so much wrong with that tweet I don’t know where to start

…but are they “formally” charged…or “formerly” charged?
…charged as in billed or charged as in, I dunno, impeachment or some shit?
…isn’t “the market” the final arbiter & federal government aid & bailouts part of what he called ‘the swamp”? (kidding – it’s his primary source of embezzled taxpayer money)
…wouldn’t it be better if that tariff money wasn’t going into the treasury & then out to beleaguered farmers but instead going straight to the farmers because someone called off the dotard & his misbegotten tariff war in the first place since that put a lot of this strain on them in the first place?

      FFS…
