Wow, I haven’t heard that song since I was in high school, I think. I went through a Goth phase back then. Fortunately only the music, not the clothes.
Nice job getting us rolling tonight, Keitel!
I’m going a little off track tonight (no pun intended)!
In addition to being a music lover, I am also a car enthusiast.
If I were to answer the age old question, if you could have lunch with anyone, past or present, Carroll Shelby would be on my short list. A man of humble beginnings, Carroll was a chicken farmer who began racing cars while wearing his chicken farm overalls. After a successful career as a driver, a heart condition forced him off of the track. But his ingenuity and his years of experience just “wrenching” on cars, he would go on to become one of the top car designers the world has ever known. Defeating the mighty Ferrari’s was a highlight of his career.
There is a new documentary on Carroll’s life called “Shelby American” and I can’t wait to see it!
No, but that looks like a terrific movie!
The one with Matt Damon and Christian Bale?
I think it just came out in the theatres last week but I definitely want to check it out!
I have a buddy that met Carroll when he asked him for permission to make a motorcycle styled after his Cobra. He auctioned it off for Children’s hospital. Cool bike!
That must have been a thrill to meet Shelby!
The bike is wicked, too!
There’s a dude in Cali named Sugar Bear and he makes custom front ends for choppers that’are amazing. He was on an episode of Counting Cars.
Keith (the guy in this pic) taught Macklemore & Ryan Lewis how to ride motorcycles & built all the bikes (including the chariot & moosehead) for the video Downtown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGhoLcsr8GA
He has a cameo riding a motorcycle in this video. He has since built them a few motorcycle for personal use.
You’re a car guy, too? We have a lot in common. I really want to see that doc, too. I saw the Ford V. Ferrari movie last week and it was very good. Could have been better, but it’s a nice telling of that story. And Christian Bale is great as Ken Miles.
Glad you guys are posting early, I gotta go drink beer w/ my beer club so won’t be checking site again. I’ll leave this here though for the car theme. The Rev Horton Heat – 5.0 Ford https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9UF33CSiTA
We get together, usually at my house on Mondays. Everyone tries to bring either a growler or some cans/bottles of something we haven’t tried or even their current home brew. We sit around the bar, listen to tunes, sample beers & food & have a good time. Good way to start the week!

Also dig the b-side.
That B-side was great.

My baby is a Dodge Challenger and I had sequential tail lights put on which I believe are a Carroll Shelby creation.
Drove to and from St. Louis this weekend. ATW were played a lot, and procured tix to see them in April. My current favorite track

I need more details about this “beer club”. And if you don’t respond, just reading those 2 words in order has me on board!

Awesome concept!
Motherfucker ,I don’t care.
+1. Same
I’m a few days late on the theme, but an incredible cover by a band that I barely knew until yesterday.
Here’s another weird cover for Loveshaq:
Thanks for that! Very cool. I love Wall of Voodoo, that’s a fun cover. Have you ever heard Wall of Voodoo cover Johnny Cash? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FyTfLAlASU
