  1. Nice job getting us rolling tonight, Keitel!
I’m going a little off track tonight (no pun intended)!
In addition to being a music lover, I am also a car enthusiast.
If I were to answer the age old question, if you could have lunch with anyone, past or present, Carroll Shelby would be on my short list. A man of humble beginnings, Carroll was a chicken farmer who began racing cars while wearing his chicken farm overalls. After a successful career as a driver, a heart condition forced him off of the track. But his ingenuity and his years of experience just “wrenching” on cars, he would go on to become one of the top car designers the world has ever known. Defeating the mighty Ferrari’s was a highlight of his career.
There is a new documentary on Carroll’s life called “Shelby American” and I can’t wait to see it!

      • No, but that looks like a terrific movie!
The one with Matt Damon and Christian Bale?
I think it just came out in the theatres last week but I definitely want to check it out!

    • I have a buddy that met Carroll when he asked him for permission to make a motorcycle styled after his Cobra. He auctioned it off for Children’s hospital. Cool bike!

      • That must have been a thrill to meet Shelby!
        The bike is wicked, too!
There’s a dude in Cali named Sugar Bear and he makes custom front ends for choppers that’are amazing. He was on an episode of Counting Cars.

    • You’re a car guy, too? We have a lot in common. I really want to see that doc, too. I saw the Ford V. Ferrari movie last week and it was very good. Could have been better, but it’s a nice telling of that story. And Christian Bale is great as Ken Miles.

      • I plan on going to see the Ford v. Ferrari movie, but honestly, for stories like that I prefer documentaries.

My baby is a Dodge Challenger and I had sequential tail lights put on which I believe are a Carroll Shelby creation.
