DeadSplinter Up! All Night: Baby Shower

FERTILITY! OPEN SWIM DUAN!

We’ve had fifteen (15!) new lambs already this season and we’re only halfway through lambing. Babies everywhere. My job is to go check on the pregnant ewes every 4 hours, all day and all night, so I haven’t had a full night’s sleep in forever. So thanks to my tiredness, there is no theme for tonight’s DUAN. You post whatever music you like – I know it will be good. If you can work something about babies or birth into it, you get half off your next DUAN.

But first, let’s check on the first batch of lambs who are already big enough to put outside in the pasture with their moms. Gunnar the Horse has a cameo at the end of the video. For some reason, his presence calms everybody down. Please excuse the crappy camera in my 4 year-old phone.

All the babies started coming as soon as the weather turned nice.

Everybody is healthy. We had one preemie breach-birth at the very start who didn’t make it, but he was one of triplets and his brother and sister turned out fine. They had to spend the night at the vets, but only to make sure mom was OK. There are already three sets of twins born.

Finally, this one isn’t a baby pic, but I thought you’d like to see that the group of adult sheep (and one of the donkeys) like to hang out underneath the solar panels when it starts to drizzle.

OK, everyone. Cut me a little break on the theme and play whatever you like. This is a baby shower after all, so let’s have some fun. I’ll be over in the corner catching a few winks before I have to go check on the maternity ward again. And thank you for putting up with my nonsense.
