Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Beach Party!

I’m still in Puerto Rico as you read this. I’m probably drinking a margarita on a beach or at a pool and complaining about the humidity or hiding from a thundershower which seems to happen every hour or so. We went to a local beach a few days ago and got a taste of how the locals party at the beach. It is all about who can play their music the loudest. We went to a beachside restaurant that was playing music so loud you couldn’t have a conversation and had cars drive by constantly that had music even louder. Much of it has not been something I can get into but here’s a few of the new to me stuff I have heard that I think is pretty good.

Have a great night and party on!

  1. Not sure what part of Puerto Rico you’re in, but if you get to Ponce make sure you go to King’s Ice Cream. Caribbean ice cream is different than, and in my opinion superior to, what we have in the continental US.

    • We are in Rio Grande about 2 hours from there so sadly not going to make it but maybe can find it near me.  We headed to the south side from the east & it was not good.  I’ll file a report when I get back but it has been better than I thought but hotter & more humid than I can take.

  2. have a good time over there 🙂

no beaches or parties where i am today…so ill just go with my favourite singalong tune

no deep reason behind it….. it just perfectly matches my vocal range…so i can proper belt it

  3. Long tangent here. My wife and I were in Old San Juan once long ago, and the midday heat and humidity are real. We took a break in the little Pau Casals museum, which is in the house where he lived after abandoning Spain and his native Catalonia when Franco and the fascists took over.

Despite occasional entreaties from the fascists, Casals never returned. His former house isn’t far from the beaches of San Juan, and this is a long piece he composed in San Juan.

    • Humidity is killing me more than high 80’s heat! Hiked in rain forest today & wanted to die.  San Juan is a trip & local saved me from big mistake. Had my expensive camera out & told me I could walk one direction with it but not a good idea the other way (where my clueless bro in law was going).  People are mostly really nice here & we have shared some political synchronicity.
