For me, the obvious, but there is a *why*–
Years ago I remember a local radio station talking about how Sinead spoke about her pregnancy changing her voice…
That not *only* the tendons & ligaments holding your bones together get a little looser & change, as your body gets ready to deliver the baby, but that her VOICE changed, as the Relaxin spread throughout her body–because the hormone relaxed her vocal cords too–and she spoke of how it added a depth & richness, which her more “pure”/younger voice simply couldn’t hit–for all that incredible quality that it *did* have…
And you can *hear* that additional roundness/tone/richness in this cut. Yes, she *doesn’t* go quite to the highest of the high notes that she was able to hit when she originally recorded back in the 80’s…
But I agree with her assessment of her gorgeous instrument–that the addition of that incredible depth, and the full roundness of the depth in her voice afterward is just as incredible & in some ways, honestly *is* superior to the high, straight, clarity & power that she had beforehand–even though she apparently lost the highest of the high notes she used to be able to grab so easily;
