…I really will go back to the top & listen my way down these in a minute if only because frankly I need to force myself to stop paying attention to the things making me fear for the way things may look come breakfast so I apologize for the fact that these are by no means unpredicatble choices…but it’s this or I start on a playlist that I’m not sure I’d be able to stop that almost certainly won’t be as good to listen to as the one that was waiting for me when I got here
…so…that endless playlist i was trying to spare y’all…after that there’s one entry on it that I kind of have to cave on, at least…because where I grew up the boys in blue didn’t tote guns…some of ’em do now…use ’em too from time to time…but in some ways I’ve never got over that particular culture shock
All I want to do is fuck around and check out all your music and fool around and play video games and lap steel, but I think I got to go out and join these people who are being trampled by our own government. I’m not sure I’ve got a choice. I feel so guilty that me and my generation didn’t do a goddamn thing about any of this bullshit so that it now falls to these kids who are already on an economic knife edge. If I hadn’t spent so much time self-absorbed and drug addled maybe I’d have done some good, but now, old and brokedown, I still gotta go out and just see what I can do, even if it’s nothing more than put my body in the way. I hope to see you all again soon. Once I pack a bag, I’m heading to the city.
…where I am right now…geographically & not to put too fine a point on it & for want of a better word mentally…the truth is I don’t think I could put hand to heart & say I was helping anyone…so the geographically bit is probably for the best, all things considered…still…as the young folk might say…I feel you
…& let’s make it a hat trick on the “be safe” thing…take care out there
I remember thinking, when this live album came out about 20 years ago, that “Know Your Rights” sounded like an impending riot. The only difference now is that it’s not “impending” anymore. . . .
My beer club friends just all started texting me that our favorite beer store was closed with no note of what was going on. I got scared and texted my beer guy, they had to close early due to looting nearby and curfew. My thoughts immediately went to this…
Right here, right now.
The Fall – Rebellious Jukebox
More bad-but-catchy 80’s schlock:
What a Mess Again
Les Variations
great song. great band.
ZZ Top – Cheap Sunglasses
Buddy Guy – Too Damn Bad
buddy guy is great
I’d love to see him in concert, but it’s probably not going to happen.
Turnpike Troubadours – Gin, Smoke, Lies:
Pau: Chet and the Whiskey Chickens – Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)

Damn, I remember buying the first three or four of those Punk-o-Rama comps and they were good — but the tracklist for Vol. 8 is better than expected!

Be safe.
God Speed & be safe!

Speaking of hat tricks, and using one’s voice, this just crossed my twitter feed.
I don’t hockey much past knowing a handful of Wild players, and who the Boogie-Man was,
But DAYUM💖

Steve Kerr and Pops made some good statements today, too;

If you’d like, tell us what city you’re in. I’d donate to a bail fund there — just in case.
