I think you guys are well aware that I like a lot of (possibly bad) pop.
So sue me.
Here’s Gwen with her comeback attempt. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either.
I’d trust it more if she’d dump that human thumb she’s engaged to.
11 of the most successful musical comebacks of all time
From ‘the cat with nine lives’ Cher to a resurrected Jay-Z, here’s a look at some of the most notable artists to have returned from career obscurity:
Now THIS is a comeback:
What’s your favorite comeback story? Who would you like to see make a huge comeback?
Thanks for your continued support of Deadsplinter and DUAN!
id like to see the wierd punk metal hybrid to make a comeback
i hated it at the time…but ive gotten over it
I once listened to an interview with Weird Al Yankovic. I think it was when his “Running with Scissors” album came out. Anyway, the interviewer made a comment about this being a comeback album for him. Al responded by saying that all of his albums are comeback albums. “I tend to wait until people start saying, ‘hey, whatever happened to Weird Al?’, which is when I know it’s time to put out another album.”
Bohemian Polka – Quite possibly the funniest song ever recorded.
By all accounts he is a hell of a musician and has a reputation for being an all around great dude. Go Weird Al!
When I was in college, I had a chance to see him in concert but I passed. Still regret it.
Last month Cabaret Voltaire released their first album in 26 years – Shadow Of Fear. I’m sure it will be a BIG hit, lol. Anyway, I’m glad they’re back even if it’s with only one original member.
I have no come back songs, but I do have Gwen dirt. According to Blind Gossip, Gwen and Blake have a PR relationship only, but are good friends. His people are now telling him to dump her, before her visit(s) to Jeffrey Epstein’s private island become public.
I wish 1970s AM radio gold would come back in style. I’ve got my mullet wig and poofy shirt ready to go when that happens.
And this one goes out to my dear wife, who lurks around here.
Not that he ever disappeared, but I really like this latest from Stevie Wonder
Bonus points for Stevie’s chromatic harmonica. That is the sound of my soul.
It’s a great callback to the songs from the days of Talking Book and Songs in the Key of Life.
The New Pornographers – Ballad Of A Comeback Kid
Swervedriver – A Change Is Gonna Come
Whee! Got one! “Don’t call it a comeback…”
++++ My first thought exactly. ++++
This isn’t a bad bounceback after the mess that was “Catharsis.”
We talked about it last night, I want an Oingo Boingo reunion & new music! I know Danny is thinking about it, he did this in his quarantine space…Please Danny! We need it sooooo much!!!!
Stick with that one to the end – it’s worth it!
He’s married to Bridget Fonda, whom I love.
…I guess my first thought was the kind of comeback @elliecoo went with…pretty much literally in fact…but there are a lot of hip hop tunes that could be called a comeback to this or that diss…& maybe I’m biased because jay-z’s stuff has never really been my bag but I figure this is probably up there with the likes of eminem taking apart machine gun kelly?
[I like how the linked article mentions Take That. I sort of like them better the second time ’round, without Robbie.]
On the concept of a comeback:
One of Madge’s many comebacks (this after what seemed like a mid-90s career nadir):
And who could forget ballad-y Janet?
