I heard this song the other day and really liked it. I tried to find out more about it/them but I’m very confused. I can’t tell if Montagem is a band or a type of song. Apparently it’s part of a hip hop style called phonk from Memphis. But also might be Brazilian? I don’t know, I feel really old but I still like it!

Today is Clifford Brown’s birthday. He was the greatest of all jazz trumpeters. He’d have been 93 today, but he died at 25 in a car accident.
Bandmate Benny Golson wrote this immortal song for his friend Clifford. I can’t imagine a greater tribute to a fallen musician.
