One was (is, I guess) the son of a Russian prince, although the nobility was abolished by the Bolsheviks after the seizure of power in 1917, so this must be an honorific, like how Connecticut-born Countess LuAnn de Lessups took a title from her ex-husband that is not officially recognized in France’s Fifth Republic?
