Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Going to California

I’m on a crazy road trip all week so for those of you that saw this early and wondering what the hell is going on, I’m probably 100 miles from the nearest Wifi as you read this.  Hopefully, if all goes well, I will be back soon.  This is Makana’s rendition of the Zep classic.  Makana is one of the most talented young slack key guitarists I have ever seen.  Enjoy!

  1. That’s a very cool cover of the Zep original.  I will forgo posting the low hanging fruit and will instead, once again, tip my hat to Farscythe for yet another band I’ve been turned onto:  DeWolff – California Burning.  They put an old quote from Ray Kroc in the lyrics.  See if you can spot it.

  2. The Raveonettes — “Z-Boys”

This CD was in my car for a couple of years, and it probably would still be if I’d replaced that car with another one that actually had a CD player. The coda here is my idea of what heaven or the hereafter or what-have-you must sound like, too.

  3. I appreciate nobody posting Californication, my least favorite RHCP song but was hoping for this one from at least one of you, you know who you are!
