What time of day is it?

Bonaparte and Acid Pauli – Good Morning. Yup, I have the wrong time of day. These fellows are Berliners who work with a changing cast of artists and collectives. They define their sound as dance-punk, electronic rock, and indie rock.

As always, thank you for your support of DeadSplinter and DUAN.

and from my sister’s favorite band, Cecilio and Kapono , she was such a super fan that Kapono saw her recently at the store and ran up to her and asked if she could tell him the lyrics to his own song because she would always sing it whenever he played it in a small bar in the early days.  Of course she remembered the first few verses and it came back to him.

  2. The weekend in a nutshell:
The Specials, “Friday Night, Saturday Morning”

Johnny Cash, “Sunday Morning Coming Down”

    The Velvet Underground, “Sunday Morning”

  3. Debbie Reynolds was 19 years old and had 3 months to learn how to tap dance well enough to hold up against Gene Kelly and Donald O’Connor. Early parts are the usual “people who can’t dance are standing around while the dancers move around them” and then about a minute in it becomes an actual dance number. You see her sometimes really fight the urge to glance at her feet, which is a thing new dancers struggle with, but she does amazing.

  4. We watched a documentary about Dean Dillon tonight. He wrote a ton of country songs, including Tennessee Whiskey:

And this one for George Strait (Among a ton he wrote for King George)
