A few years back my wife did this thing called the Hell Run. It was one of those obstacle course runs w/ mud and fire and all sorts of crazy things. At the end they had a beer garden (at 9am?) w/ Tone Loc playing! He only played a few songs and played this one twice. Pretty funny. He has not aged or saved money well apparently.
I certainly did not expect a Ukrainian folk quartet to become my new favorite thing, but these are highly unusual times we’re living in. DakhaBrakha, I love you.
Not funk, but this made me burst into tears just now. I am so fucking emotional right now, haha. Like cute puppies, songs I like, songs I don’t like, any thing on any TV show – tears.
Indeed. I used to work for a guy who was a sax player and he had played an evening as part of a road horn section with Ray (at the time his tour management was only touring him with a core set of musicians and they’d hire out the rest of the backing band for different dates). Anyway, Doug was a real screwball. When he was introduced to Ray he said, “hey there, Two Eyes, how are you doing?”
We still got some really stupid people at work. What are you gonna do… besides mock them for violating social distancing and fight the urge to hoof them hard in the ass?
Rescue me from people who should know better and don’t.

Top Down – Steer Me
All this stay at home snacking, I think I’m Givin’ Up Food For Funk

I’ll be listening to more of this.
Anyone remember when The Bulgarian Women’s Choir was a thing?
No, but I do remember Bulgarian Chicks
I do not, but I’m into it.
Ooooh I like this!
It’s got some real Tori Amos energy, which is perhaps an odd reference to pull out, but here we are.
Here we are, haha.
Betty Davis – F.U.N.K.
Love the funk. Still can not post a song in comments, no idea why. Picture Bill Withers accoustic Use Me, ok? Sigh.
I pm’d you…and hope this is the right one?

There’s a guy that’s aged well.
Hell yeah he has. His voice still sounds 80s’-y too.
Ray Charles – Hallelujah I love her so.
I got to see him a few years before he died. He was being backed up by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Excellent show.
Lucky you!

Lol!
I’ve been listening to a fair amount of Prine today.
hallelujah!….praise the lord and pass the amunition!
