Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Impatient

the days are getting longer, I'm told

It’s the Deep Winter, and a lot of us are snowed under, frozen solid, or dripping wet. There’s little to do but wait it out at this point. Nothing else for it, really, because there’s no bargaining with the weather. It doesn’t care about your complaints or the holes in your mittens. The bears have the right idea with that whole hibernation thing, I think. Just go to bed until Spring.

There just ain’t no shortcuts to getting through winter when you live in a place that has all the seasons. But waiting gets tedious, so we have to keep each other bucked up around here. Whether with EZ recipes for scotch eggs, or jokes, animal pictures, or reviews of police procedurals from the UK. Explicit photographs of bundt cakes and Sophia Loren’s spicy lasagna.

One of the few things that can make all this bearable for me is the music you all share. I’ll get through this winter 3:22 at a time. The other thing that helps is the realization that the sun’s gonna shine on my back door someday.

Thank you all for coming out. I count on on DUAN.
