New Music Saturday! Pom Pom Squad is an indie/punk band from Brooklyn, New York. The band is fronted by vocalist and guitarist Mia Berrin alongside bassist Mari Alé Figeman, drummer Shelby Keller, and lead guitarist Alex Mecuri. The band’s backgrounds range from Keller’s jazz training to Berrin’s classic hip-hop and new wave influences. Berrin’s lyrics center on her identity as queer woman of color, mental health, abuse, trauma, and healing.
Pom Pom Squad released their first EP Hate it Here in 2017 and followed with their debut album Ow in September 2019. Thank you for your continued support of Deadsplinter.
