I’m optimistic and I have no reason to be. All the mess going on in the world, and the sickness and people suffering and yet I can’t help but believe things are going to work out OK. I’m not normally a Pollyanna, in fact I spent most of my life expecting the worst. Something’s changing in me as I get older.
Anyway, let’s try to radiate a little love this year, yeah? When things get bad, remember none of it will matter in 100 years. Worrying doesn’t help. And remember, we got each other.
Todd Snider – Alright Guy
And it’s Tuesday somewhere
When things get bad, remember none of it will matter in 100 years
welp as you almost literally spelled out the title of this song…albeit in a different language
i gets to post this song again
more music needs organs man
anyways…..this song is entirely too much fun to sing along to
Het leven is tijdelijk en de dood is onvermijdelijk
Maar stel dat je niet dood kon gaan
Dan had je stomweg niet bestaan
Wees blij dus dat je straks mag sterven
En laat het je leven niet bederven
Begrepen
Life is temporary and death is inevitable
But what if you couldn’t die
Then you simply would not have existed
So be glad that you can die soon
And don’t let it spoil your life
Got it
The ’80s called – they got your back.
Howard Jones – Things Can Only Get Better
Al Green – Everything’s Gonna Be Alright
Oh God, Howard Jones! And that hair, which is like its own independent sentient creature. The absolute best.
I should make a New Year’s resolution. Since I can’t return to the 1980s maybe I can replicate it somehow. Get rid of all this mid-century modern crap and bring in the Laura Ashley. Chintz, as far as the eye can see. The shoulder pads, for men and women. Skinny ties, worn every day. The music! Reaganomics. The invasion of Grenada. The guns for hostages deal. KKK leader David Duke running for office. Oh, those were the days.
