  2. I shook James Brown’s hand! It was at a fundraiser not too long after he got out of prison and he was clearly checked out and doing it for the appearance check. But it was James Brown. I remember his hand was very soft.

    Bootsy Collins played for him briefly, and Collins later was part of Groove Is In The Heart

    • Didn’t he fire Bootsy for doing acid? Also, I love this song so much.

  5. I’ve seen James Brown perform live more than just about any other musical artist.  When he used to come through the Chicago Theater for 3 nights, I would buy tickets to every single show.  James’ Federal recordings are my favorites of all his catalog though.  1956-1960.
