Before signing with EMI Music Canada (Capitol in the US) to release their debut album Dig in 1993, Toronto-based band IME (I Am Me) decided the letters should stand for something so they changed their band name to I Mother Earth and to this day, they swear it doesn’t actually have a meaning other than that.
Fans of IME enjoy friendly debates over which song on the album is the best, but those who don’t argue on behalf of Levitate are wrong.
