What will the future bring? Will it be better days or full-on post-apocalypse? Will we all get vaccinated and be able to jump back into the glorious mosh pit of a social world or will we actually have to learn to use the word “variant” on a regular basis?
Whether we like them or not, there are gonna be changes. There’s what is, and then there’s what’s gonna be. As Hexagram 28 of the I Ching says,
‘Great Exceeding, the ridgepole warps.
Fruitful to have a direction to go.
Creating success.‘
Which means fuck all to me, but sounds like it might be OK, except for the ridgepole warping part. I like my ridgepole just as it is, thank you very much.

Looking back on the past year gets you nowhere. I choose to look forward, to a meal with friends and family, a dance with a stranger at a wedding, a simple handshake with a new acquaintance. Getting around with a personal jet-pack. Singing 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall on a crowded bus.
