Deadsplinter Up! All Night: MarchFourth

Band Geeks & Steam Punks Unite!!!

On March 4th, I’m listening to MarchFourth. They are a band you can’t just listen to though, they have to be experienced live or at least seen to be believed. They are former Portland band geeks that created the greatest rock-n-roll circus you could ever imagine. What other band has Burlesque dancers pole dancing with guys on stilts?

I may have done a DUAN of them in the past but how could I NOT do them today? I’m working all day and writing this really early so if the theme should have been insurrection or the end of democracy, I apologize for the light theme and you are free to post on that, if you are not fleeing the country. In any case, please enjoy MarchFourth!

Thanks for your support of DUAN, or our new leader Q, or whatever the fuck happens today!

  1. Wow, that’s great stuff! I have a lot of respect for band geeks. Way back in the dark ages, when I was in High School, some of the wildest guys I knew were band geeks. They partied hard and still managed to get good grades while meeting all the extra band requirements.

  2. Local band. The fellow who speaks at the beginning was married after performing as the lead in a local theatre production of Rocky Horror, dressed in full drag.

  3. Even though this is on Ella Fitzgerald’s George and Ira Gershwin songbook album, it is an instrumental by Nelson Riddle’s orchestra.  Nelson did all the arrangements for the album and his orchestra did the backing for Ella.  March of the Swiss Soldiers.

  4. I’m just chiming in to say March 4th has long been my favourite day of the year, simply because I like the sound of “march forth on March fourth”. Yet another thing the alt-right idiocracy has ruined for everyone else.
    Here’s some Persian pop.
