Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Motorin’

Because we needed another travel option

Things are progressing at top speed here at Rancho Del Meme-o, and I will not bore you with all the details. But one of the fun things we did is that we bought a travel van. A 2005 Dodge Sprinter with 90k miles. We’ll take it out on its maiden voyage in a couple weekends.

    • oh wait…i was supposed to share a story

well…..ancient english lore has it……that somewhere in sussex……there is a panda….. of the fiat variety…. upside down in a ditch

not even remotely close to a road

that may or may not have been mine after trying to running a motox course in it

      • well…i guess technically it wasnt really mine…..as i traded it for 50 quid before i had a driving license

but you know….dont ask questions you dont want answered

  1. My craziest drive was when I was 26. I just got off work and was ready to go out to Kingston to visit my friends. Turns out there was a really “bad” crash on the 401 just outside of Toronto and I was stuck in a 1 1/2hr traffic jam.

When I reached the crash site, I realized it was “just” a truck that caught fire and the jam was caused by idiot gawkers. The summer heat, long day and frustration boiled over. I slammed the gas down on my mom’s Accord and headed down the 401 at 180kph (112 mph). I got to  Kingston in about 1 1/2 hours (150kph average speed) this despite the OPP being all over the place as per their habit of patrolling on Friday nights.

I was one dumb lucky motherfucker.

My friends thought I was nuts. I was. The trip home took much longer.

  2. I used to have a car that was in such bad shape a friend dubbed it the Death Mobile. Another friend who was carless borrowed it to take a girl on a date. He brought it back in 15 minutes and said it was better to cancel than to pick her up in it.
