1000mods – Warped
and on the completely other end of the spectrum…
That 1000mods is the goods.
LA Priest/Yuno, What Moves You remix, three weeks ago:
Nerve Quakes – Attention Economy
BOWL CUTS / PART HUMAN – Degeneration M
Both of those songs would have fit right in at clubs like Chicago’s 950 or neo back in 1984, and that’s a good thing.
The new Oscar Lang EP came out a couple of weeks ago. I posted it on SMBD,still listening to it.

It’s not new music but it is music news. Covid 19 has claimed the life of Country Music Hall of Famer Charley Pride.
Charley was a good guy.
There was a lot of great new music this year. The new Aaron Parks/Little Big album is on my list. I didn’t care too much at first, but it’s been worming it’s way into my head.
Oh, wow.
I hope I get a chance to see what he does with it live.
Well, I mean, this happened…
This is not new at all but I feel compelled to announce that today is Dionne Warwick’s 80th birthday. She’s been in the news lately because of her newfound Twitter presence. Send her your good wishes @_DionneWarwick because “That’s What [Psychic] Friends Are For.”

Well, thanks to my ineptitude I onl provided you with a link. This video is a gem. Warwick sings, but she’s in with (from our left) Elton John, her, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder. Toward the beginning Warwick looks straight at Stevie Wonder when she sings the line “close your eyes.” Gladys Knight looks adoringly at Stevie Wonder, somewhat ignoring the other two. Elton John is both understated and very extra, gotten up like a deranged one-episode extra from “Deadwood” and hamming it up. Everyone looks fabulous, though, and it was for a good cause. It was released as a charity single with the proceeds donated to AIDS research, was #1 in 1986, and won a Grammy.
The Avalanches just released their third album (in 20 years). Like all their work, it was well worth the wait.https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mXFHGweBeksDd8cHJAsHUsfCjFZCJyojs
And I’m really digging this Tiny Desk Concert:

Whoops. Let’s try that Avalanches link again.
