This recording actually came out in 1960 I believe but you can bet this was being worked on from the 50’s. The greatest guitar duo of the 50’s and 2 of the most influential guitarists ever, Jimmy Bryant & Speedy West. This song being this long was unheard of at this time, most songs were under 3:00.
Frank Sinatra, who was very thin, had to wear prosthetic padding to fill out the seat of his uniform. In a TCM interview, Ann Miller said that Sinatra was extremely sensitive about his padding and did not appreciate the usual movie set horseplay involving his lower half.
Smiley Lewis from 1953 – Big Mamou

I’m going rogue for this DUAN because, no matter what, I promised myself I’d shout out this band today.
Here is Nation of Language, whose debut album was my top album of 2020.

I didn’t know Frank was so tiny!
When we were watching On The Town as kids, a friend told me that Frank had to wear padding around his buttocks to better fill out his sailor uniform.

Love this tune from 1959
