Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Obscure X-Mas Songs

Not your normal Christmas playlist from your very abnormal DJ

I’m posting this a little early so hope I’m not messing anyone up. I don’t want to step on any toes with my Christmas song list or repeat my previously posted Metal Xmas songs, so my gift to you tonight is my top 12 favorite obscure X-mas songs.  Many of these songs come from my favorite Christmas album series, Cashing in on Christmas.   Many of these may not be your cup of tea, that’s okay, but click on to the next one.  I like to think that you will find a gift for almost everyone on your list in this collection & in no specific order.

Finally, I’m throwing in bonus song. Two years ago we lost a legend in the world of slack key guitar and a personal friend of my family. .  If there is a heaven, Cyril is teaching the angels how to play guitar and having Kanikapila on a cloud somewhere.  We miss you Uncle!

Mele Kalikimaka DUAN & Deadsplinter Ohana! I hope all your Covid Christmas plans work out & Santa is good to you & yours. Aloha!

  1. We sang this for a Xmas pageant in elementary school. I used to sing it to my self a lot – having never heard it again anywhere else. Through the miracle of youtube – I found it – the actual song isn’t quite as pretty as child me remembers.

    • Thank you…. so much for posting that. I didn’t know that I needed to hear that, but now that I did, I am so grateful that you thought of it. No, really, it’s great. Fitting, yes, that’s it, fitting. Great, now who’s next?

  2. In general this whole album is good. Mix of classics and a few newbies. Some are definitely “oh that was a choice you made….” but definitely a good album. This is one of my favorites because it approaches Christmas from someone a-okay that they’re on the naughty list.
