Poor dog.
Poor Laika.
You know (you well know) dogs are very intelligent creatures who live to be with their packs and they somehow communicate with each other. In my feverish imagination, the canines have an elaborate belief system, loosely based on Catholicism. God, of course, is Rin Tin Tin, and the Jesus figure is Lassie. There are saints and martyrs, like Laika and Tiger, the “Brady Bunch” dog, and any dog that only has three legs, or is blind. Great deference is shown to them.
They are all the best boys and girls.
