If I remember correctly, Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, but she’s outside of tonight’s purview. Plus, Erato is way hotter and plays the harp. [By the way, I happen to think Johnny Mercer’s lyrics for Skylark (music by Hoagy Charmichael, see below) is the finest lyric of the 20th century. Mercer knew how to make words do stuff.]
