Deadsplinter Up! All Night: Police

FERGUSON, MO - SEPTEMBER 10: Police block demonstrators from gaining access to Interstate Highway 70 on September 10, 2014 near Ferguson, Missouri. The demonstrators had planned to shut down I70 but their efforts were thwarted by a large contingent of police from several area police departments. Ferguson, in suburban St. Louis, is recovering from nearly two weeks of violent protests that erupted after teenager Michael Brown was shot and killed by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson last month. We have all had interactions with the police, some good and some bad. At some point most of us will have a reason to Call the Police.

It sure seems lately though we hear more and more bad stories about Police Brutality.

When most of us think the job is more about being a Peace Officer.

It just makes you wonder who is really Doin’ A Crime?

Stay out of trouble DUANers & have a great night.

  1. Junior Murvin – Police and Thieves

A reggae classic, produced by Lee Scratch Perry and backed by the Upsetters. Supposedly both Murvin and perry hated The Clash’s cover.

  2. Vocalist / guitarist Robb Flynn shares the inspiration behind the release, “I wrote and sang the lyrics on Wednesday May 27th 2020, the day that the four officers who murdered George Floyd were (originally) not charged with anything. This day was engulfed in protests and riots across America. I drove into Oakland, past large demonstrations already happening and in a fury wrote down everything I was feeling after watching the horrific footage.  Within hours, what I wanted to say, what I needed to say had been recorded in the song.”
