  1. oh noe man…every girl ive ever dated was perfectly sane and normal

    (also…from experience…apparently chick is offensive)

  2. Ladies and gentlemen, the Governor of the Empire State. Not since Joan Crawford in her prime…

There’s also Princess Beatrice. With Randy Andy and Fergie as parents I suppose you’d expect “eccentricity,” if not insanity.

And now, from the crypt that is my college of musical knowledge, please welcome Kim Carnes performing “Bette Davis Eyes”:

    • Oh, I just remembered. ELO’s “Evil Woman.”

    • The slapping. The New Romantic slapping.

      • Yes. Precisely. When I was in high school I had a boyfriend and we used to sneak into a gay New Wave dance club and we used to do the slap dance and he slapped my glasses halfway across the room toward the bar where, fortunately, the bartender caught them and returned them to me.

So young, so stupid, but so much fun.

  3. Well, a guy I met in a band in college used to be in another band called The Sodomites a couple of years before, and they had a song called “Psycho Girl.” It’s not on YouTube, as far I can tell, but I did find them mentioned in a blog post about 15 years ago, along with a link to their CD. Hell, the link may still be active, so if you’ve got a soft spot for sophomorically raunchy humor from the mid-’90s (the CD in question is called Copulation of the Nation) . . . well, have at it!

    • Fabulous. Some people I knew in high school formed a punk band and there used to be a grainy video of them performing in Rochester or somewhere upstate. It was terrible but maybe for people who enjoy that genre they were great. The weird thing is one of them was one of the most talented baseball players my high school ever graduated. So imagine Aaron Judge doing covers of Ramones songs and writing his own.

Cypress Hill – Insane In The Brain
