Give me all your monsters and monstrous music, dearest DeadSplinterites:
Dawn Brothers – Vampire
The Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil
Jens Kuross – I Only Ever Loved Your Ghost
Warren Zevon – Werewolves of London
As always, thank you for your support of DeadSplinter and DUAN.
Bridge City Sinners – Song of the Siren
baba yaga?
the monster within?
the fucking devil?
This is horrific.

@myopicprophet
and my play list just got a little more skitzo 😀
Rasputina – The Humanized Mice
I didn’t know you were a Rasputina fan! That makes me so happy, I don’t know many other fans.
So you’re the other fan, lol. I love Rasputina.
I also had a few of their tracks in my mp3 collection at one point. One of my former roommate’s friends was a huge Rasputina fan, though (possibly the third).
@Meh-zuzah and @BigDamnHeroes I kid, they have their following.
Sure, a small group of devoted fans I think. They did get a little attention for their song on a Buffy episode forever ago. I found out about them from my husband, way back when we started dating in high school. He found out about them when they toured as an opener for Manson.
I’ve probably seen them over a dozen times, always in very small venues, always a good time.
@LuigiVuoto: Great picks.
I was just listening to this Bauhaus cover the other day:
Massive Attack, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead”
Men At Work
Well, THAT’S obscure!
Been revisiting their stuff.
Scary Bitches – Lesbian Vampyres From Outer Space
@Hannibal, you win +1!
Yay!
Oh, dear. The title immediately reminded me of this:
replying to you coz that picture reminded me
something about the font…i think
“Video not available”. Dammit!

oh hey….i forgot the fucking trolls
oh fuck me….i completely forgot about cthulu too….i will probably pay for that one…eventually
if the fishy looking fucker can catch me anyhoos
(the farscy is a slippery fucker)
Edgar Winter Group – Frankenstein
Whosoever knows fear burns at Man Thing’s Touch…
The appreciation I feel by getting rick-rolled by @matthewcrawley as opposed to getting rick-rolled irl by @tragicallychic is uncanny.
When that song first came out I really liked it. I happened to be in a zippy little convertible rental car speeding (as much as I could, traffic, traffic laws) up and down the hills of San Francisco when I first heard it. Then Veblen’s Theory of Aesthetic Nausea set in, for me and everyone else.
Now flash forward more than a decade later. It is not a warm, dry September San Francisco evening, but rather a freezing Thanksgiving day. I have scored bleacher seats through a Macy’s contact (“friends and family”) for the parade. I have friends and family with me; the contact was very generous. Imagine my horror when:
Text from an out of town friend: “OMG r u watch parade? Rikroll!!!”
My reply: “Am at fucking parade”
It wasn’t a total loss. Among us were two pre-teen relatives who had never heard the song before and they liked it. Even better, I got to host Thanksgiving that year and I made a big lamb roast because I don’t care for turkey very much.
offtopic
but goddamn this video fucks with my head
PS: I don’t know where this is from but there’s a bit of a prologue. Skip to 2:04 or so to get to the song.
Okay @MatthewCrawley you also get a +1 for Vincent Price.
Noted art collector, gourmet chef, enthusiastic partaker in any and every sort of campy horror-themed venture, what couldn’t that man do? If anyone ever asked me who I’d most like to have a dinner with I’d pick Vincent Price, hands down.
Howling?
Aw, I have to drop this right here…it was the low hanging fruit. David Bowie, Scary Monsters and Super Freaks. (Sorry to play my own DUAN).
I thought this
and this
was the low hanging fruit but I’m not the best at reading the room?
You read very well @Myopicprophet – and those are great low-hanging fruits, mmm, juicy!
Great choices!
This seems fairly obvious:
Michael Jackson, “Thriller”
Spoofy and related:
Tracy Jordan, “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah”
…and why not?
The Sanderson Sisters, “I Put a Spell on You”
The Bats, “Free all the Monsters”
The Unicorns, “Tuff Ghost”
Rob Zombie, “Living Dead Girl”
Puscifer – Tiny Monsters
