So, by the time this shows up on the interwebs, I will be drinking beers (not green!) and watching basketball before eating corned beef until I pass out on the couch. It is an Irish tradition that works even better having the start of the NCAA tournament today, Go Zags! I am about a 1/4 Irish and my wife is a little more than that. Why not both? In 1944’s “Going My Way”, possibly the most Irish-American movie ever made, and that year’s biggest box office success, Bing Crosby, playing a priest, sings this on Christmas Eve.
My wife gets mad at me every time I bring up Der Bingle’s unfortunate Joan Crawfordesque tendencies towards his less favored progeny. I try to steer clear of him….
They would have made quite a pair. In fact, Bing died just five short months after Joan, in 1977.
