Even when you like your job/career, gearing back up for the work week can be rough. This band – Rainbow Kitten Surprise – often has story-style lyrics (unlike the song with eight words I posted a few weeks ago). These lyrics work for Lunaediesophobia.
“And we’ll vacation first class
I’m breaking your fall
You’re breaking my ass
You’re working all day
Hating on all the bitches at work
You say you’re ok
You’re faking
Fucked up!
Drinking all day, you give me a cup
And I’ll be damned if we can make it out of this alive, baby!”
For International Women’s Day, I’m posting my favourite all woman band (and a childhood Belinda crush):
Here is mine. Kleenex – Nice. I don’t understand a single word but I could listen to this all day.
I can’t even . . .
….begin to describe how awesome this is.
🤭😘
When My Lips Are Sealed came out my 80+ year old grandmother loved it, she had me buy her the cassette and she listened to it all the time. I’d never known her to be interested in music much before then.
I was EXACTLY 25 months old when that song was released (June 12, 1981). I remember at that time that Richard Brodeur was my favourite goalie because I loved the Canucks uniforms and when you got hockey card packs, you flipped through them for goalies because the goalie cards were all that mattered (because I’m Canadian so OF COURSE), but I didn’t get into the Go Go’s until after my Belinda crush happened. Grade 3…Heaven On Earth. By grade 6, I couldn’t wait for Runaway Horses to come out and it is still my favourite album of hers:
idk which editor will delete this comment, but SAVE ME FROM MYSELF!
If it was released in ’81 then she was more like 70+, still a pretty old broad to be boppin’ to The Go Gos.
O-PEE-CHEE! I wonder what the Beckett price is?
I bet ellie knows how to find it!

…I may not appreciate the finer points of hockey-goalie hierarchies of yesteryear…but…well…you did kind of get yourself into this…so I’m not sure quite who might be able to save you from this little piece of heaven on earth?
Ok then…I’m game:
If I have to sacrifice my teenage love of Hope Sandoval for Belinda here tonight, I’m going all out!
Brand new from Machine Head:
Now get the fuck away from me.
Coachwhips – My Job At The Hive.
Possessed By Paul James – Soy Muriendo (wait 10 seconds in the beginning):
Band – Possessed By Paul James
Album – There will be nights when I’m lonely
Song – Soy Muriendo
Released on: 2013-10-29
Label – Hillgrass Bluebilly Records
scratch the ‘wait 10 seconds’. you don’t have to wait. I mixed it up with another instance of this…
…so…the fugees were always a kind of a mixed bag to me…but lauryn hill’s verse in this always seemed like about as damning of men as anything I can think of…which seems about right?
I will try to match Myo’s childhood crush, but it won’t be easy, as Belinda Carlisle is certainly both beautiful and talented.
But for me, I was hooked on Hope Sandoval’s brooding and mysterious persona.
lol
Unlike Belinda, Hope never had had to move…she’s perfect just standing still. This is when I fell in love with her:
I know he’s a colossal douchebag but I still like this song.
Morrissey – Everyday Is Like Sunday
And to redeem myself, for International Women’s Day
Kate Bush – This Woman’s Work
Say what you wish about Morrissey, but in my humble opinion, he and Johnny Marr were creating amazingly innovative music, when *many* of their peers were slapping together 80’s commercialized sub-standard music as fast as they could so they could get it on MTV and cash in quick.
…it’s a fair point…but at the same time I recall a friend as a kid trying to persuade me the smiths were great & after they played me a few tracks I said something to the effect of them being so miserable I expected the next song to just be about how sad he was about his girlfriend being in a coma…he wordlessly passed the album cover across to me &..well…
…so for a while there I really didn’t pay too much mind to them?
I wish I could give a star to your comment but not to the Smiths.
Poobah – Live to Work
Bikini Kill – Rebel Girl
I’m very lucky to be at a stage in life where I don’t have to work as hard as most, but still, Sunday night is Sunday night and Monday is Monday. Love to all.
havent slept a wink courtesy of me cat deciding to scratch and meow at the bedroom door every 15 minutes or so…the little asshole slept all day and doesnt worry about people needing sleep
sooo..my aproach to work and me coworkers today will probably be this
dilligaf indeed…
How have I never heard this? Playing it loudly.
Because I’m on day…5 of my current 10-in-a-row** I’m pulling in the local boy:
Brother Ali, Work Everyday–
The ‘Jovi for that:
And since we’re going Girl songs tonight, one of the BEST & most famous, by a QUEEN of country music, AND a fun one, since I already posted my *other two* favorite ‘Chicks songs (ANNNNNNND because lately, I sadly *do not* have the time to rock my pink polka dots on my toes😉):
(**although thanks to Spring Break at the school district, I’ll be off there from this coming friday ’til the 23rd, but WITH pay, ‘cuz we’re pro-rated😉😁🤗)
dolly’s an UBER-QUEEN! how can you not love dolly? it’s impossible!
