i loooooove livin in the city!
(admittedly… my little city is more like a town really….only 60k inhabitants…but hey…officially a city…so i gets to say….iiiiiiiiiii love livin in the city!)
holy shit *shamelessly stolen from oppo* https://early1900s.org/radiodismuke/
nothing but happy jazz from the 20s and 30s
it seemed rude not to share it
“This was nostalgic moment when our original drummer Sale Suomalainen🤘 left his seat in the band, and our new drummer Pekka Sauvolainen stepped in to be a member of Am I Blood. We made that swap in the middle of our gig.”
I saw Foghat in a sometimes strip club that was way too small for their sound system. Loudest concert I have ever been to & one of the most interesting audiences.
I have never heard that Bad Luck City song before, but it is already a favourite!
I don’t think I’ve ever called anything “groovy” before, but THAT is groovy.
RL Burnside is one of the greatest unknown blues musicians ever. I haven’t heard anything from him that I didn’t like. A Ass Pocket of Whiskey is also a great album.
City?
MC 900ft Jesus – The City Sleeps

…clearly a different city
…’cause I ain’t getting the sleep I’d like to be?
Too many good “city” songs from great bands like Op Ivy – Big City
Dammit, every time I see that motherfucker skankin at me the sax riff from “Bad Town” is stuck in my head for a week.
and a great cover of Suffragette City by Seu Jorge
This seems appropriate.
Courtney Barnett – City Looks Pretty
Uncomfortably appropriate.
Hot Child in the City – Nick Gilder
…on the other hand…cities are funny places…you might say they run hot & cold?

“Going to the City”
Bent Wind
Big City Vibes
“Downtown” is, of course, a classic, but for my money I enjoy the frighteningly specific pleading of Petula’s “Don’t Sleep In the Subway.”
Wheezin’ like a bus stop…
One of the stupidest songs ever.
Honestly, it wasn’t until this song showed up on The Muppet’s soundtrack that I was like, oh, yeah, I get it now. Cool.
I still don’t get it.
full circle – movements (animatic):
For those who can’t seem to stay the fuck home. Fogat – Fool for the City
For places like Las Vegas or Orlando. R.L. Burnside – Bad Luck City

I have been coming around to blues more and more as my go-to and oh shit R.L. Burnside is so good.
I’m guessing this was on the downside of their career?
How did u guess? They were more than a few months past their expiration date.
and one on theme,
Scorpions – Big City Nights:
Madcap – Bright Lights, Big City
