As noted yesterday, this is Valentines week. This can be a great thing! It can also be something else. Just like sometimes you need science, sometimes you need…something else.
Who to ask if you suspect perfidity
What to do if you discover perfidity
Where to go after dealing with perfidity
A sadder, darker side of love and a beautiful song. Grudge Fuck,Pernice Brothers. “I would give anything to make it with you one more time.”
No better name in Ska music than Buster Bloodvessel! Bad Manners – Lorraine
The Dictators – Young, Fast, Scientific
As a bonus one of the greatest covers of this song.
A stranger’s hand on my favorite dress.
My Favourite Dress – The Wedding Present
This is too fun not to throw in. The Nails – The Things you Left Behind
Peter Sarstedt – Where Do You Go To My Lovely:
Maybe I’m amazed at the way you love me all the time…
You said dark so …
Tracy Chapman – Behind the Wall
…for the record I already put that tune in the DOT before I came here…after yesterday I figured I best get the one thing done before the other?
Sorry SplinterRIP!
…no need to apologize…just didn’t want you thinking I pulled your tune & failed to give credit is all
I would never think that of you. 😊
I saw Little Feat in 77 or 78. They did a kick line finale to this song. I was seeing sparkles at the time and it was very cool.
I discovered them, like, the week Lowell died, and never having seen him is a HUGE regret of mine. I did see them a number of times without him, though, and they were still smoking. I saw them with the Neville Brothers and they played together for a while. I was stone cold sober in every way and I swear I could actually see music manifesting like a silver mist. It was lovely.
Oh wow! This is an all-time great DUAN commenter, formerly known as StillFedUp !!!!!!!
So glad you found us and welcome to the new and improved DUAN!!!
This was my intro to Little Feat.
Awesome track. Thank you.
“I can’t be what’s wrong with you.”
This track stumbled into my playlist today and I couldn’t not revisit the whole album — and I forgot how good this album is, like the spacey lovechild of Elliott Smith and Flaming Lips.
I am particularly fond of singers with idiosyncratic diction, especially lisps. Maybe it’s because I had a lisp as a kid and had to go to speech therapy. Anyway, The Cadillacs were choice mid-era doo-wop out of Harlem, USA.
Peter Murphy – “Strange Kind of Love”
The question we should all be asking?
Oh yeah, how could I forget that. Damn!
Grayson Capps – Mercy.
When he and his band were made homeless by the Katrina floods, they did the only thing they could do…go on tour. That’s when I met them as special guests on the radio show of a client of mine:
…perfidy, you say?
…or, if you prefer
*doesnt know what perfidity means* *cant be arsed to google before coffee*
