The great Jazz musician, Ramsey Lewis passed away last week at the ripe old age of 87. He started out as a pianist and became so much more. He recorded more than eighty albums and won three Grammy awards. He was also the host of Legends of Jazz – both the PBS show and the Chicago radio show. Letās pour one out for an amazing talent.
Maurice White from Earth, Wind and Fire was a drummer with the trio for three years starting in 1967.
As always, thanks for your support!
I’ll leave the low hanging fruit to others.

Weird camera choices but great jazz piano by Oscar Peterson
Being from Chicago, I got to see Ramsey Lewis a bunch of times at various venues.Ā He influenced several generations of Chicago musicians.Ā There is so much good music there.
Well, shoot, I remember his PBS series and even if the music didn’t do a lot for me, he was just great. RIP, Ramsey Lewis.
Madness – Wings of a Dove
This is the classic from Sun Goddess, song of the same name, brings me back to summertime in college every time I hear it:
Crowd-ed works, eh?
